Art is my way of breathing deeply.
Sonja:With her love of reading and writing, Sonja tries to find the time to do both, but she is a working mom and doesn’t have a lot of time. She is a great mom and a lovely wife. She always did some writing but never published anything. I have the pleasure to be partners with her not only in the best life we have but also in her first book. A photo can show a lot, but it cannot reveal the full story behind any given scene. With Sonja writing about our adventure, we can share our experience more fully.

Fares: With his great eye for detail, Fares captures images that most of us don’t even see while standing right there next to him. His artistry, sense of beauty, and love of nature have been my great fortune as we travel around the neighborhood, the country, and the world. I hope you will see in these photos the wonderful time we had in Alaska as well as the stories of the people we met and places we saw. We wish for you to be inspired to take a journey of your own, whether in person or by allowing your imagination to run free while you read this book.

We had dreamed of going to Alaska one day. We decided to take the plunge in the summer of 2005, planning a trip that would allow us to experience the widest possible array of sights and experiences Alaska offered.
